Full-Time Outside Sales Manager at White Bear Lake, Stillwater and St. Paul, Minnesota
Abbott Paint & Carpet, a family owned and operated business for 80 years, has an immediate opening for an ambitious, self-reliant full time Outside Sales Associate who will help to grow relationships and manage key accounts to sell high-quality paints and coatings to contractors, businesses, and homeowners. Come work with us, where you will:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand our customer base
- Identify new business opportunities with paint contractors, builders, and retail accounts
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers through regular site visits and exceptional service
- Monitor sales performance and provide regular reporting to ownership
- Collaborate with the sales teams in each of our three retail locations to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
- Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and client meetings
- Stay up-to-date on product offerings, industry trends, and competitor activity

About You:
The successful candidate will be excited about finding new opportunities in the home improvement and paint category, maintaining our current key accounts and working directly with retail teams to grow Abbott Paint & Carpet.
- Proven experience in outside sales (paint, coatings, construction materials, or related industry preferred)
- Prior management or team leadership experience highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated with a customer-first mindset
- Ability to analyze sales data and set actionable goals
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally/regionally

Part Time Designer at our Stillwater location
Abbott Paint & Carpet — a family-owned and operated business for over 80 years — has an immediate opening for an ambitious, self-motivated Part Time Designer at our Stillwater location (with opportunity for occasional shifts at our other locations as needed). You’ll serve as a knowledgeable resource for our customers, helping them select the right products, answering questions, and providing outstanding service throughout every phase of their project.
Schedule:
- 1 weekday per week
- Every other Saturday and occasional Sunday
- Approximately 8–20 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with paint colors, flooring, window treatments, and other design selections.
- Provide design guidance and product recommendations based on customer style and needs.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming showroom environment.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure exceptional customer experiences.
- Stay up to date on current design trends and Abbott Paint & Carpet product offerings.

You’ll serve as a knowledgeable resource for our customers, helping them select the right products, answering questions, and providing outstanding service throughout every phase of their project.
What You’ll Do:
- Work in-store alongside our team of trained sales professionals.
- Provide product recommendations and paint expertise based on customer needs.
- Prepare quotes and give timely, helpful feedback to customers and contractors.
- Collaborate with vendors, customers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth purchasing experience.
- Build relationships with local painters, homeowners, and contractors who rely on our products and support.
Paint or retail experience is helpful but not required — we’ll provide comprehensive training.

Driver / Store Support Associate
Location: Based out of White Bear Lake, MN
Position: Full-Time
Abbott Paint & Carpet, a family owned and operated business for 80 years, has an immediate opening for an ambitious, self-reliant full time Driver/Store Support Associate who will be the main point of contact in transporting products between our Abbott Paint & Carpet locations, while also helping with stocking, receiving, organizing inventory and other day-to-day tasks that keep our stores running smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Drive a company vehicle to transport products between our St. Paul, White Bear Lake and other locations as needed
- Deliver paint and carpet to our contractors and multi housing clients
- Pick up and deliver products from vendors and suppliers
- Load and unload paint, carpet, flooring, window treatments and other products
- Stock shelves and organize inventory throughout the store and warehouse
- Receive incoming shipments and put product away
- Move heavy products and materials throughout the store and warehouse
- Keep the warehouse, stock areas and receiving areas clean and organized
- Assist with inventory counts and organization

What We're Looking For
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Ability to regularly lift, carry and move heavy products
- Comfortable with frequent loading, unloading, stocking and physical work
- Dependable and punctual
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to help wherever needed
- Able to work independently and stay productive throughout the day
- Organized and attentive to detail
- Friendly and professional with customers and coworkers
- Previous delivery, warehouse, retail, construction or flooring experience is a plus, but not required

This is not a desk job. The position requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, loading and unloading throughout the day.
